Last Living Rock King

Last Living Rock King

I actually made this quite a while ago, but I only tonight uploaded a version to YouTube that has better-quality video and a reasonable audio/video sync. (Though, there are still many subtle visual elements and things that have inevitably been lost in the YouTubeization, but at least it’s better than the first attempt.) The video is from the anime “FLCL“, and the audio is Veruca Salt’s “Shutterbug”. Yeah, yeah, anime music video, whatever, but I think it’s pretty good. It’s at least worth a watch, even if you’ve never seen the show or aren’t really a fan of anime or Veruca Salt. The music works well, I think, with the visual themes and content from the show.

Anyway, enjoy, I hope.

  1. If you don’t like youtube, try Stage6. It’s DivX’s youtube – you have to encode with DivX, but there is no length limit (instead of 10 minutes), and file size must be under – this is awesome – 2GB (instead of 100MB). I don’t think they do anything to your file, either, other than to possibly transfer it to the DivX container format if it’s an AVI (which, unless something really bizarre is going on, probably doesn’t involve any re-encoding, unlike youtube, which resizes your video and re-encodes it to FLV).

  2. EVERYONE MUST check this out. It is f**king awesome!!!
We must see more of these. I love the way the anime is in total sync with the music. Some people I love put me on to
“Veruca Salt” a while back. Enjoy!

  3. seeing this reminded me that I had been meaning to watch FLCL for quite some time, since i kept missing it when it was on Adult Swim. i found the entire series at if anyone else hasn’t seen it yet and wants to, you can watch it there. it’s alot like Youtube, but it doesn’t break the episodes into little pieces, or keep taking things off the site. the episodes I’m finding seem to be fansubbed, but if that doesn’t bother you, it’s a good site to check. They also have alot of other shows on there. (right now I’m also watching Torchwood, since it hasn’t been on TV in the states and youtube keeps taking it down). Veoh might be a good site to put your AMV on, too.
